Automotive Warranty

Q: Who is covered and for how long?

Gibson Performance warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle on which it was originally installed and sold within the United States.

Q: What we will do to correct the problem:

If a defect in workmanship or materials is found by our factory inspection, our sole obligation shall be to repair or replace the product. This warranty only covers the product and not the labor cost of removal, installation or shipping charges. The obligations of Gibson under this warranty are limited, and shall not exceed the cost of non-confirming parts.

Q: What voids this warranty?

Failure to provide proof of purchase, Damage from collision or accidents, improper installation, altered/modified or changed in any way, off-road or racing use, vehicles equipped with non-factory supercharged, turbo-charged or nitrous oxide, road hazards, incorrect timing and external heat wraps.

If you believe you have a defective part contact Gibson Performance Customer Service Department for a Return Authorization Number at (800) 528-3044. The original product must be returned to the factory, freight pre-paid with a copy of your original sales receipt and a description of the problem.

Q: Gibson Performance will not be responsible for:

Products which have been modified or altered, corrosion, peeling, blemishes, discoloration, internal rust, surface rust, rust through, road hazards, lack of maintenance, or extremes of heat or cold. Cost of labor incurred to install or remove the product. Additional parts required to complete installation, shipping charges, loss of use of vehicle, car rentals, towing and other expenses. Damage to chrome plating, gaskets, burnout, paint and parts blown out by a “back fire” and the cost of customer applied aftermarket coatings. Individual customers sound preference or mufflers meeting the specific sound ordinance in any city, county or state are not covered under this warranty. Inconveniences or consequential damages occasioned by failure of the product, or expressed or implied warranty with respect to this product other than as set forth herein. STAINLESS STEEL PRODUCTS are warranted for internal rust-through.

Side x Side Warranty

Q: Who is covered and for how long?

Gibson Performance Side x Side and Sand rail product is warranted against defects for material and workmanship for one year from date of purchase to the original purchaser.

If a defect in workmanship or materials is found by our factory inspection, our sole obligation shall be to repair or replace the product. This warranty only covers the product and not the labor cost of removal, installation or shipping charges. The obligations of Gibson under this warranty are limited, and shall not exceed the cost of non-confirming parts. Gibson Performance reserves the right to make changes in design, material and specifications as deemed necessary without prior notice. In the event that the terms are not complied with, Gibson shall be under no obligation.

Q: WILL IT VOID MY WARRANTY?

No, all of our street exhaust products are 50-state street legal. Our headers are 50-state legal and c.a.r.b. approved. in fact, it is illegal for a dealer to deny you the O.E. warranty because you have changed the exhaust system. Q: WHERE DOES THE POWER COME FROM?

There is a 34% (or more) exhaust restriction in the typical stock muffler. Gibson Superflow mufflers only have about a 5% restriction because we "custom power tune" every muffler specifically to each vehicle. Other brands of aftermarket mufflers have between a 20% and 20% restriction. That is why Gibson consistently outperforms the competition on laboratory "flow bench tests" and, more importantly, when you want hill climbing, stump pulling power and torque! Another contributing factor is the mandrel bent pipes we use. Through "mandrel bending" the opening diameter of the pipe is kept constant, even through the bends. This consistent opening size allows the exhaust pulse to flow smoothly without power robbing restrictions or backup.

Q: WHAT WILL IT SOUND LIKE?

Our products are designed and tested on stock vehicles to meet legal sound limits, with the exception of our Super Truck Exhaust. If other products are installed the overall combined effect may exceed the allowable limits. Every Gibson system is engineered to provide a civilized tone. In most cases, this will be moderately louder than stock, but with a rich throaty tone that is pleasing to the ear. Each Gibson system is quieter in the cab than any other competitive. You will get the big-block sound at the tailpipe, where it belongs. No annoying sounds, vibrations, hiss or rumble in the vehicle so common to other systems.

Q: WHAT TOOLS DO I NEED?

Q: WHAT KIND OF PERFORMANCE GAINS CAN I EXPECT?

Gibson cat-back systems deliver performance and increase torque that you will feel, with improved acceleration, hill climbing and passing power. Typical performance gains on fuel injected V-8 will be anywhere from 10-25 horsepower and similar numbers for torque. For V-6 applications you will see a gain of 10-15 horsepower. How much performance you gain will depend on the condition of your vehicle and the upgrades you have already made.

Q: IS THERE ANY WELDING REQUIRED?

No. Everything is designed as a bolt-on kit.

Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO INSTALL AN EXHAUST SYSTEM?

Most exhaust installations can be completed in about 1/2 day. Headers can take a little longer.

Q: HOW IS GIBSON DIFFERENT?

POWER... GIBSON delivers its power in the 2,000 to 4,000 rpm range. Other competitive systems claim more power by using the higher 5,000 to 6,000 rpm range... This rpm range is never used by street vehicles. SOUND... GIBSON is "quieter in the cab" than any other competitive system. You get the big-block sound at the tailpipe, where it belongs. No annoying hiss or rumble in the vehicle so common to other systems. The thicker materials used in both the muffler case and the exhaust piping, as well as our patent pending "flow tuning" chambers in every Gibson Superflow™ muffler keeps the sound "in the system" until it exists at the tips.

Q: HOW DO I KNOW IF I'M BUYING A REAL GIBSON PRODUCT?

Every Gibson muffler built has the Gibson name embossed in the case. If it doesn't say Gibson on the muffler--beware, it's not a genuine Gibson muffler.

No. Our systems are designed to be completely bolt-on to your vehicle. Factory locations are utilized and all necessary installation hardware is included in the kit.

Q: CAN I INSTALL A GIBSON SYSTEM MYSELF?

Yes, many of our customers enjoy installing their Gibson system. In fact, we are told that it's a tougher job to remove the stock system than to install their Gibson exhaust.

Shipping & Returns

Q: When will my order ship?

All shipments leave Monday through Friday. Most shipments will leave within 1-3 days. If there are any known delays, we will let you know as soon as possible.

Q: When will I receive my order?

We ship directly from our warehouse in Corona, Ca. Most orders will leave within 1-3 business days after processing. Standard ground shipments will take 1-5 business days to arrive, depending on which continental state you ship to (a business day is a non-holiday weekday, weekends are not counted). Expedited shipments will arrive in the amount of business days you select, plus the processing time, prior to shipping. Please allow extra time when shipping to remote rural areas and during peak holidays. When your order ships, we will send you a Shipping Confirmation email with a tracking number. If you placed your order via the telephone and did not provide us with an e-mail address, please contact customer service if you do not received your order within 10 business days.

Q: Undeliverable packages (orders returned to us)

Packages that are returned to us and marked as "Unclaimed", "Return to Sender", "Attempted Unknown", "Refused", or "Invalid Street Address", will be credited back to the customer's credit card on file, less the shipping and handling fees and a 15% restocking fee.

Q: How will you ship my order?

We ship primarily through FedEx, however, some shipments may be shipped by US MAIL or motor freight carriers. DISCOUNT TRAILER reserves the option to choose the best carrier available at the time of shipment.

Q: How much is shipping?

Shipping is determined using freight rate calculations. In some cases (Alaska, Hawaii), the rates may be inaccurate and we recommend contacting us prior to ordering.

Q: How fast is my order processed?

Under normal circumstances, orders are processed the same or following day, Monday through Friday during typical business hours. All orders placed Saturday or Sunday will be processed on Monday, with the exception of holidays.

Q: How do I get FREE GROUND shipping on my order?

Orders over $250 ship free! Individual items with Free Shipping will be shipped by the carrier of our choice to a single address within the continental United States. Free Shipping excludes orders requiring truck freight or orders shipping to Alaska or Hawaii.

Q: Do you ship to Freight Forwarders?

No we do not. There are no exceptions.

Q: Do you ship to Canada and US Territories?

We regret that we are not shipping orders outside the 50 United States at this time.

Q: Do you ship to APO/FPO addresses?

We apologize but we are unable to ship to APO/FPO through our website at this time. If you would like to place an order and ship it to an APO/FPO address, we recommend having a friend or family member take delivery from us and forward it to you.

Q: Do you offer expedited shipping?

Yes. You can choose 3-Day, 2-Day or Next Day service for an additional charge. The expedited shipping duration does not include the time to process your order. Please refer to the Shipping Estimate feature in your cart screen, after adding your items, to estimate the amount of your shipping cost. If actual shipping rates are higher than the what the cart quoted, we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss any additional charges.

Q: Delays during holiday seasons between Thanksgiving and Christmas

Shipping companies often do not guarantee any shipment a couple of weeks before Christmas. Please allow extra time for deliveries during this time. You can also contact us for expedited shipping options.

Q: Delays by shipping companies

Your shipment could be temporarily lost or misplaced by the shipping company. If the delay is deemed unreasonable, we will ship you a replacement order. If the original package does show, it is your responsibility to help get that package back to us. If the package is not returned in a reasonable amount of time, you will be charged for it, plus the shipping cost.

Q: Can I send an order to a country other than the United States?

Currently, we only ship to the 50 United States.

Q: Can I have my order sent to more than one address?

Each order can be sent to only one address. If you are purchasing several items to be shipped to different addresses, you'll need to place a separate order for each different shipping address.

Q: Billing address information is inconsistent with what is on the credit card record

To protect our customers against credit card fraud, we will call, email or use other ways to verify that the credit card holder authorized the purchase. The billing address MUST MATCH the records at the card issuing bank or we will not accept the order.

Q: What shipping options are available?

All shipments are sent by the ground service of our choice, unless otherwise requested. All orders must ship to physical addresses. WE WILL NOT SHIP TO PO BOXES. While we do offer express service, you may need to contact us before ordering to get a shipping quote.

Q: Do you ship outside of the USA?

Sorry, we currently do not ship to Canada, non-Continental US Territories, or Internationally.

Q: Do you ship to Alaska and Hawaii?

We do ship to Alaska & Hawaii. However, shipments to Alaska & Hawaii are excluded from our Free Freight offer. The rate quoted during checkout is only an estimate and is subject to additional shipping charges that will be charged to your credit card.
